MEDICAL WATCH:
DH Cliff Floyd (slightly torn labrum in right shoulder) was removed from the World Series roster before Game 4. He said he would retire if he would need surgery to continue his playing career. RHP Troy Percival (sore back) didn't pitch Sept. 22-24. He returned to action Sept. 25, but he was left off the roster for all three playoff rounds.
C Shawn Riggans (swollen right knee) hasn't played since Sept. 7. He had surgery Sept. 10, and he went on the 15-day disabled list Sept. 18. He was left off the roster for all three playoff rounds.
RHP Jae Kuk Ryu (elbow surgery) was recalled from Class AAA Durham and placed on the 15-day disabled list Aug. 31.
RHP Chad Orvella (sore right shoulder) opened the season on the 15-day disabled list, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on April 13. He had season-ending surgery May 23 to repair an impingement.
