And it was the 10th victory of the season for left-hander Scott Kazmir, as the Rays joined the Angels as the only teams with five starters with double digits in wins.

And though the Rays, who maintained their 4-1/2 game lead over Boston in the AL East, have bigger goals in sight, manager Joe Maddon acknowledged the accomplishment.

"To get to 82 is obviously important for us as an organization," Maddon said. "We've done it. It's behind us. Now we can go past it."
