There are a number of signs that the Rays are not a fluke and have the chance to maintain their success deep into the season.
One is the number of games they are winning, 33 through Friday, trailing only the Cubs among all major-league teams. Another is how they are winning, with a mix of stellar pitching, sturdy defense and timely hitting.
And a third is who has been leading them, and like many championship style teams, they are getting contributions from throughout their lineup.
On Friday, it was Cliff Floyd, who earlier spent a month on the DL following knee surgery, leading them to victory.
"It seems like it's a new guy every week," right-hander James Shields said. "It's one of those things where everyone is contributing."
