 Times Staff Writer St. Petersburg will kick off the Tampa Bay Rays' home opener with a downtown block party for fans from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. The lunchtime party, on Central Avenue between Second and Third streets, will include music, giveaways, interactive games, inflatables and an appearance by team mascot Raymond. Food and drinks from vendors and restaurants will be available for purchase. Parking is available in the South Core garage on First Avenue S between First and Second streets. Also, the Looper Baseball Trolley will offer free service from downtown to Tropicana Field for the Rays game tonight against the New York Yankees. Shuttles will depart every 10 minutes from 5 p.m. until one hour after the game ends. The shuttle picks up on Second Street between Central Avenue and First Avenue S, beneath the Bank of America pedestrian bridge.
